When dealing with tooth loss it can be difficult to do a lot of things that people normally take for granted. Eating whatever you want is suddenly a very difficult thing to do. Speech can be impacted, and even your self-esteem starts to suffer. You owe it to yourself to have a function set of teeth, let us give you exactly that with a new set of dentures.

Dentures are a cost effective and dependable method of replacing teeth in order to give you much of the function that you have lost due to edentulousness, back.

A Practical Tooth Replacement Method

Dentures are a removable prosthesis designed to look like a full set of functioning teeth. They mimic your natural teeth in aesthetic and can perform most of the same functions as natural teeth. Typically, they are considered for those who have no teeth left, so if you still have a few teeth left in an arch, we would perform extractions to ensure you can receive a conventional denture.

Dentures are great because they come at a fraction of the price of other tooth replacement options and offer many of the same advantages.

The Procedure

Once the mouth has been prepared to receive dentures by removing any remaining teeth we will need to give you mouth some time to recover from the extractions. In the meantime we will craft what is known as an “immediate denture” for you to wear in the interim. The immediate denture allows the extractions sites to heal. While we wait for your mouth to heal our dental lab will be hard at work fabricating your new set of dentures.

Because losing teeth usually means losing the ridge of your gums, dentures include a portion of the gum line in their finished state. The denture you receive from our dental lab will be a fabrication that includes a healthy portion made to look like your gums and a full set of teeth. Most dentures are made of acrylic. The upper arch of the denture will cover the whole roof of your mouth and the lower arch will be U-shaped in order to allow room for your tongue.
